Straight from a Benedictine abbey in Burgundy (yes, really), these delicate pastilles have been made the same way since the 1500s. Each one begins with a tiny green anise seed, patiently coated in layer after layer of naturally flavored sugar—slowly spun into a smooth, fragrant pearl of a sweet.
Tucked into dreamy illustrated tins, they’re a pocket-sized portal to the French countryside—just the sort of thing your curious old aunt would keep in her handbag, alongside a lipstick and a small mystery
